These five cross pieces were installed while the frames were in place. Wedges were used to force the hull to the size of the frames. The four cross pieces midships are drawing the hull in as much as 1 ½”. The cross piece in the bow is pushing the hull out about 1”. Once the hull was in the right position all the frames were removed.
