At the bow, only 2 stealers are necessary to accommodate the 4 full length planks laid down from the keel. The first two of the these have to undergo the same 90 degree twist that the planks at the stern did, however, at the bow this takes place over less than 1 ½’. Without steaming, the wood is not capable of making this twist. I didn’t feel like setting up a steam box so… |
