Now that the foremast will be staying in the hull, a new 'ridgepole' is needed for the tarpoline.  This is the 'final' one so it needs to support snow during the winter and wind during transport - this is why the 3 'rafters' have been added.  A mast crutch (red arrow) supports the end of the mast.
