A new royal sail has been 'sewn' (i.e. glued) and 'bent' (tied) onto the royal yard.  It is furled with 4 buntlines as described in the diagram shown earlier.  The two 'sheets' (lines) can be seen coming from the two lower corners of the sail down to the ends of the yard below, the topgallant yard.
