The sheets arrive forward of the aft cockpit and blocks turn them towards the center of the boat feeding into jam cleats. The sheets continue across the deck to jam cleats on the other side, through more blocks and fairleads that lead back to the jibs. Thus the sheets are continuous and leave no loose end in the cockpit - when one side is pulled in, the other side is let out 'automatically'. The cleats are at an angle so that when the line is being let out it does not accidental fall into the jam grooves.
